CCCE-UNIK JV Successfully Signs Contract for Lesotho Lowlands Water Development Project Phase III  Contract for Design and Build of Intake Works, Raw Water Transmission Line, Water Treatment Works,and High Lifting Pump Station located at Hololo River

 

On March 5, 2026, CCCE-UNIK Joint Venture (JV), formed by CCC engineering Ltd. (CCCE) and Unik Construction Engineering (Pty) Ltd. (UNIK), successfully signed a contract with the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Kingdom of Lesotho for the Lesotho Lowlands Water Development Project Phase III  Contract for Design and Build of Intake Works, Raw Water Transmission Line, Water Treatment Works,and High Lifting Pump Station located at Hololo River.

The project scope includes the design and construction of the Hlololo River intake works, raw water transmission pipeline, water treatment plant, and high-lift pumping station, with a total contract value of approximately USD 50 million.

The Lesotho Lowlands Water Development Project is a key national infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing regional water supply capacity, ensuring reliable access to potable water, and supporting socio-economic development.

This contract marks a significant milestone for CCCE in entering the water infrastructure sector in Africa. It is also the company’s first water treatment plant project, representing a major breakthrough in expanding its business portfolio beyond traditional power engineering into the water sector.

The successful award of this project demonstrates CCCE’s growing capabilities in comprehensive EPC project delivery and further strengthens its presence and reputation in the Southern African market.
